Celebrating the official language of Bangladesh.

A Limited Bangla Edition Jersey adorned with a Special Bangla Crest.

The Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971 is often described as the first war where language played a central role in the struggle for independence. The struggle for linguistic recognition, highlighted by the 1952 Language Movement where students protested for Bangla to be an official language, laid the groundwork for the independence movement. Bangla served as a powerful tool of resistance and mobilisation, with literature, music, and media playing critical roles in uniting and inspiring the populace. After the victory, Bangla was cemented as the official language of Bangladesh, embodying the nation's hard-won independence and cultural heritage.

The enduring legacy of the language movement and the liberation war is commemorated annually on February 21, now recognised globally as International Mother Language Day by UNESCO.
